Hi, I’m Katie Maguire. As a visual designer and strategist, I’m first and foremost a champion for the user. I deliver innovative design solutions by facilitating thoughtful and meaningful interactions with my clients, from startups to local businesses to Fortune 500 companies.

My early career was spent working at brand and print agencies and I later expanded my skillset to UX/UI. I gravitated toward small shops where I could take ownership of all facets of the creative process and work in a wide variety of industries. I’ve done my own print production and coded my own websites. I’ve been my own project manager. I’ve created the inspiration for restaurant interiors while planning signage and menu boards, working with large budgets and small. Wearing those different hats has helped me become a better, more versatile designer.

With almost 10 years of experience, I now lead cross-functional projects with teams of designers, developers and marketers. I am at my best when presenting concepts, talking through my UX and design approach, and helping to gain understanding and alignment while also pushing the status quo. At UpTrending, I create engaging and data-driven visual solutions to startups and enterprise leaders. Over the past few years I’ve helped my clients secure more than 100 million in VC funding.

I have had a lot of great people mentor me along the way, and now seek every opportunity to share my passion with other people who are just getting started, both in the workplace and beyond. I served as social chair for AIGA in Jacksonville, welcoming in new members and recent college grads, because I enjoy giving back to the creative community.

When I’m not designing, you can catch me floating in a Texas swimming hole, mid-century furniture shopping, walking my goofball miniature schnauzers or ruining my eardrums on Red River St.
